Today my group did a story called pirate crew. First we had to read it to yourself.Next we had to read it with the teacher and find the words we didn't know.Finally we had to put it on a doc. what I enjoyed doing was searching up the meaning of them and writing them in a doc. What I might do differently next time is bring the document on.

Hankies meaning : a type of cotton cloth that you wash with.

Brandishing meaning:

swing a weapon threateningly or swing a weapon angrily.

Wild orphans

Today for reading my group did this book called wild orphans. First we had to make a new presentation.Next we made the introduction then we had to write about what we learned and what we already know.Finally we added pictures of elephants to the presentation.What I enjoyed was making the slide to show you. What I might do differently next time is put the presentation on to this blog post.

haast eagle wingspan

 Today my reading group have been learning of how big is the hast eagles wingspan the wingspan is 3 meters long we had to use chalk and a meter ruler.First I took a photo of the eagles wingspan from room 1's iPad.Next I uploaded it to explain everything.Then finally I shared the photo to my Chromebook and I inserted it what I found challenging was uploading it what I might do differently is make the words bigger in the photo.      

Cats who needs them?

WALT decode unknown words and make connections to a text by activating prior knowledge. today my group the Megalodon are working on a book called Cats who needs them?.first we had to make a introduction about who made the book and we had to write the title with the author.Next we had to do one link for a cat articles in a text box and put two images of cats being useful and one video I enjoyed putting a video on the slide because I like putting videos on slides what I might do differently is make more interesting words on my slide here is my slide. 

maui and the giant fish

Today we did a practice activity for the Summer Learning Journey.

First we read the story Maui and the Giant Fish.

Then we wrote 3 facts we learned from the story.

Here are my facts:

    Maui and the giant fish

Fact 1: Maui dreamed of a day that he could go fishing with his older brothers.

Fact 2: Maui took the jaw bone his ancestor Muri Ranga Whenua had given him and bound it securely to the line to use it as a fishing hook.

Fact 3: Maui hid on the waka in the hull to go fishing with his brothers. The thing I found challenging is thinking of the ideas to make it sound more interesting. Next time I will try to make it even more interesting by making better words.

First maia was sad because when she looked at her poi it went lopsided the taura was loose and one of the huka huka had fallen off. second when she found whole in the plastic bag she put her finger in little the plastic bag she wiggled it and some foam came out  and made a little pile of foam crumbled on her feet Then She Noticed everyone was Quiet  and looking at her her Teacher (mrs waru) stepped Through the rows throwing maia the kapa haka festival is in two weeks what are you doing? Maia said my poi has a whole in it she held it up and more foam fell out she was trying to fix it her teacher said no! Maia you Ruined it maia said whatever, mrs waru was stern and said maia! If you don't want to be here you can sit outside the Principal's office haere atu go now!.lastly mr hayward said you need to make good choices misbehaving in kapa haka is,int a good choice is it? Maia said i’m sorry mr hayward mr hayward said don't you want to practice with your Friends? They’re all working really hard yes but kapa haka is boring I can’t sing I forget the words mr hayward shook his head i’m sure that’s not true but if it is boring why did you join all my friends  are in kapa haka and my Cousins I told them I want to go to the festival with them it’s not fair  to the others if you’re not trying your best mr hayward said he held up her ruined poi miss taiapa is making a new poi for the festival I would like you to help every lunch time instead of kapa haka practice ok ok maia said
